How to set up your Mailchimp account?

Setting up a MailChimp account is simple. Visit the link below and you will be able to create a free account with MailChimp that will be associated with your Village data and information. 

1. Create a Mailchimp Account

Setting up a Mailchimp account is simple. Visit https://www.mailchimp.com to create a free account that you can connect to your Village's data in Helpful Village.

We recommend using an email address associated with your Village's domain name, such as info@yourvillagedomain.org, rather than a free email account such as Gmail or Hotmail. Using your own domain email address can help improve email deliverability and reduce the likelihood of your campaigns being marked as spam.

If you do not have an email address associated with your domain, you may be able to set up email forwarding through your domain registrar. If you need assistance, please contact your domain registrar or email support@helpfulvillage.com.

2. Create a Mailchimp API Key

Once your Mailchimp account is set up, you will need to generate an API key. This key allows Helpful Village to communicate with your Mailchimp account.

3. Create a Mailchimp Audience

After creating your account and API key, you must create an audience in Mailchimp named exactly:

Helpful Village

Helpful Village will only interact with the Mailchimp audience using this name, so make sure you enter it correctly.

Once you have created an account you will next need to create an API Key for your HV platform to communicate with your MailChimp account. Please visit the link below to show you how to do this:

4. Send Your Mailchimp Information to Helpful Village Support

Once you have created your Mailchimp account, generated your API key, and created the Helpful Village audience, email support@helpfulvillage.com with the information below.

We will use these details to configure the connection between your Mailchimp account and Helpful Village.

Once we receive your information, our support team will add the API key to your Helpful Village server to complete the setup.
