How to resubscribe a user that was accidentally unsubscribed by an Admin?

Important: This method only works if the contact was unsubscribed by an Admin.

If the contact unsubscribed themselves through a Mailchimp email campaign, you cannot manually resubscribe them. Instead, invite them to opt in again using a signup form. For instructions, see How to Create a Mailchimp Resubscribe Signup Form.

If an Admin unsubscribed the contact, follow these steps to resubscribe them.

Step 1: Open Your Mailchimp Audience

Log in to Mailchimp and navigate to the Audience tab.

If you have multiple audiences, open the audience dropdown menu and select the audience you want to work with. Then click View Contacts.

Step 2: Select the Contact

Find the contact you want to resubscribe and check the box next to their name.

To check the contact's current subscription status, scroll across to the Email Marketing column.

Step 3: Resubscribe the Contact

Once you have selected the contact, click Action and choose Resubscribe.

Step 4: Confirm the Action

When the confirmation window appears, click Confirm to complete the process.

The contact should now be resubscribed to your Mailchimp email marketing.
