Before synchronization, whenever someone wanted to send a marketing campaign to a targeted group using MailChimp, they had to create a specific mailing list on MailChimp and manually transfer all the individual emails from the corresponding mailing list in Helpful Village to MailChimp.
This process became problematic when a user's status changed (e.g., from Prospective Member to Active Member) because the MailChimp mailing list was not automatically updated. Consequently, a prospective member who became an active member but was not removed from the MailChimp list would still receive marketing campaigns about becoming a member.
In summary, you need to synchronize each time you add a new person to a mailing list or update their status; otherwise, MailChimp can't track the changes in a person's status. This results in people whose status has changed remaining in the wrong mailing list, tag, or volunteer service group and receiving irrelevant mail.
Helpful Village automatically synchronizes once a week (on Thursday nights).
You must synchronize all updates made in Helpful Village for the changes to appear on MailChimp.
Only the people in the group with the Mailchimp checkbox checked & a Valid email can be synchronized with MailChimp.
