How to create and send a campaign message through MailChimp?

Follow these steps to create and send an email campaign to a specific group of people using Mailchimp. You can target recipients based on their membership status, tags, or a combination of criteria.

Step 1: Synchronize Your Group with Mailchimp

Before creating your campaign, make sure the group you want to email has been synchronized from Helpful Village to Mailchimp.

Step 2: Log In to Mailchimp

Log in to your Village's Mailchimp account.

Step 3: Create a New Email Campaign

Navigate to Campaigns → Create a New Email Campaign.

Select Email.

Enter a name for your campaign and proceed to select your recipients.

Step 4: Choose Your Audience and Create a Segment

Select the Helpful Village audience, then click New Segment.

Click Add filter to define the criteria for your recipients.

Step 5: Select Your Recipient Group

Choose Members or another appropriate group, depending on whom you want to reach.

You can add multiple filters to narrow down your audience and target specific recipients.

Example: Target Active Members Interested in Knitting

In this example, we will combine two criteria:

• Group: Active Members
• Tag: Knitting

You can choose how Mailchimp combines these conditions:

• AND: Recipients must meet both criteria. In this example, they must be Active Members and have the Knitting tag.
• OR: Recipients only need to meet one of the criteria. In this example, they can be Active Members or have the Knitting tag.

Choose the option that best matches your intended audience, then click Review segment.

Step 6: Review and Apply Your Segment

Review the segment criteria to make sure they match your intended audience.

Click Apply segment to confirm your selection.

You can now save your segment, creating a reusable audience based on your selected conditions. This makes it easier to target the same group in future campaigns.

Step 7: Design Your Email

Click Design Email to create the content of your campaign.

Mailchimp offers a variety of templates to help you create professional, engaging email messages. Choose a template and customize it to suit your Village's needs.
