Password Requirements

To help protect all user accounts, Helpful Village enforces a few basic password requirements. Please share these guidelines with members, volunteers, and administrators when they create or reset their passwords.

Password Rules

Your password must:

• Be at least 8 characters long.
• Include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
• Include at least one special character, such as ! @ # $ % ^ & *.
• Not contain easily guessable information, such as your name, email address, Village name, or the word “password.”
• Be unique. Do not reuse an old password or a password you use on another website.

Helpful Tips

• Consider using a passphrase made up of several words rather than a single word.
• Avoid writing passwords down in plain text or sharing them by email.
• Update your password regularly for additional security.
• Never share your password with other users, including administrators or support staff.

These password requirements help protect your Village data and reduce the risk of unauthorized access.

💡 Note: If you use your browser’s autofill feature, remember to update the saved password after changing it in Helpful Village. Otherwise, your browser may continue trying to log in with the old password, which can result in login errors.
