What is the Members Directory?

The Members Directory is a tool that can be accessed by Admins, Members Managers, and Active Members. It can be found under the Members menu.

Accessing the Members Directory

You can also access the Members Directory directly by adding the following extension to your Village URL:

/users_by_admins/members_directory

For example:

https://demo.helpfulvillage.com/users_by_admins/members_directory

Members Directory Settings

The Members Directory has several configuration options.

By default, the Members Directory displays:

1. Member's first and last name
2. Phone number

3. Local Village — only applicable to Hub + Spoke Villages

    

Additional Directory Information

You can request additional information to be displayed in the Members Directory:

• Address
• Email address

If you would like either of these options enabled, please select the option on Admin-> Settings ->Membership tab.

Premium Feature: Geo-Coding

Another optional setting is the premium Geo-Coding: Google Locations feature.

This feature allows interactive maps to be displayed, showing clusters of members and volunteers based on their locations.

Hiding the Members Directory

The Members Directory menu can be hidden if your Village does not want to use this feature.

However, we do not recommend hiding the Members Directory, as it can be a useful tool for connecting members within the Village.

Excluding a Member from the Directory

By default, when a new member is created, the system automatically includes them in the Members Directory.

If a member would like to be excluded from the directory:

1. Go to the member's profile.
2. Click the Member tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
4. Uncheck Included in Members Directory.
5. Click Save Membership Info.

Note: This setting allows you to control directory visibility on an individual member basis.
