Learn how to create a new service request for a member or for the Village itself with a Village Builder request.
Click on Members menu → New Service Request
Then as an admin, you can search for an active member and click select when the member appears in the search results.
Only active members will appear in the search and have service requests. If the member you are searching does not appear from the search, their membership is probably expired. Check their membership by searching for them in the top left corner.
Once the desired member is selected, you can fill out the remaining fields for the service request.
The next field will be the type of service. In this example, we are creating a transportation request by selecting the service type ‘Drive’.
With a transportation request, you have the opportunity to select if there is an appointment time.
Then for the address, if there is saved ‘Preferred Addresses’ those will start to populate and then they can be selected.
When selected the address will fill out the necessary information that is saved
Then assign an approx duration for the service request and the end time will be calculated.
Next, you will have a chance to fill out the ‘Specific Needs’ section of the service request that will allow the admin or member to write details about the service, their house, etc.
On the specific member's profile, under the ‘additional info’ tab, there is a field called ‘member needs’. That saved information will be pulled automatically when creating a new service request. This is a great place to keep needed information, such as having a walker, or specific directions to the member’s house.
If hub+spoke, you can choose a local Village. You can also choose if ‘Last Call’ or ‘Important’.
Once the service request is saved, you will be shown an overview of the service request that was just created.
As an admin or service request manager, you have ‘Advanced’ features in the grey spaces below the ‘Additional Info’.
Advanced Features for Admin/Service Request Managers
This is where as an admin or service request manager you can assign a volunteer to a specific service request, use the concierge service model by suggesting a commercial provider to fulfill the service request, adding an additional beneficiary, and cloning the request.
When searching for a volunteer to match with the service request, the suggest button will recommend screened volunteers that have the indicated ‘service group’ marked on their profile and matched their indicated 'availability' (on their volunteer profile).
With a search, you can find any volunteer, even if the current service category (of the service request) isn't marked on their profile or the scheduled request is outside of their indicated 'availability' (on their volunteer profile). This allows a Village to match a volunteer with a service request that falls outside of their normal services and availability.
A blank search will return every single vetted volunteer, even those who do not have that ‘service group’ marked on their profile.
