If a service request includes multiple trips or destinations, you can split it into separate service requests. This allows each trip to be assigned and managed independently.
Step 1: Create a Service Request
Before you can split a request, you must first create it.
- Navigate to Service Requests.
- Click New Service Request.
- Enter the required information, such as the member, service type, date, and destination.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Open the Service Request
- Locate the newly created request in the Service Requests list.
- Click View to open the request details.
Step 3: Add Another Trip
If the request includes more than one destination (for example, a return trip or multiple stops), add an additional trip.
- Click Add a Trip.
- Enter the details for the additional trip, including the destination, pickup or arrival time, and any other required information.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Split the Service Request
After multiple trips have been added, a Split button will appear next to each trip.
- Click Split for the trip you want to separate.
- The system creates a new service request containing the selected trip while preserving the relevant request details.
Step 5: Assign the Requests
Once the request has been split, each service request can be managed independently.
- Assign each request to a different volunteer, if needed.
- Alternatively, assign both requests to the same volunteer.
- Each request will appear as a separate assignment for scheduling and tracking purposes.
Benefits of Splitting a Service Request
- Manage multi-trip or multi-destination requests more efficiently.
- Assign different portions of a request to different volunteers.
- Track, schedule, and report on each trip independently.
- Improve scheduling flexibility while maintaining accurate service records.
