"Unsubscribed from volunteer notifications" VS "Vacation period for volunteers"

Volunteer Vacation Period

The Volunteer Vacation Period temporarily pauses the daily volunteer notification emails for a volunteer while they are away. It does not affect any other types of email communication.

How Volunteer Emails Are Sent

Helpful Village sends volunteer emails in two different ways:

1. Individual Emails

Daily volunteer notification emails are sent individually by Helpful Village based on each volunteer's skills and availability.

The Unsubscribed from Volunteer Notifications setting allows a volunteer to permanently opt out of receiving these daily volunteer notification emails.

2. Group Emails

Group emails are sent using the Email Messenger after selecting multiple service requests. These messages are delivered through Mailchimp.

Volunteer vacation periods do not apply to Mailchimp emails. As a result, volunteers on vacation will still receive group emails sent through Mailchimp unless they have separately unsubscribed from that mailing list.
