How to create a new Village Builder Service Group?

Village Builder Groups help organize volunteers according to the specific tasks they are willing and able to perform.

Each Village Builder represents a specific volunteer task. This ensures that Village Builder Requests are only visible and sent to the appropriate volunteers.

For example, if a new request is created for Envelope Stuffing, the request will only be visible to volunteers who belong to the Village Builder: Envelope Stuffing group. These volunteers will also receive the request in the daily volunteer email.

Helpful Village provides a stock list of Village Builders to help you get started. You can also create additional Village Builder Groups to meet the specific needs of your Village.

Step 1: Open Village Builders

Go to:

Admin → People Management → Groups

Select "See groups" for "Village Builders"

Step 2: Create a New Group

At the top of the page, click:

New Group

Complete the appropriate fields, including:

• Name – Enter the name of the Village Builder.
• Comments – Add any relevant information or instructions about the group.

When you have completed the fields, click SAVE.

The new Village Builder Group will now be available and can be assigned to appropriate volunteers.
