How to create a New Interest Group by an ADMIN in Village Talk?

Interest Groups in Village Talk are groups that a Village can create around specific activities, hobbies, or interests.

Creating Interest Groups is a great way to encourage members to connect with one another, share common interests, and participate in discussions within the Village.

Create a New Interest Group

To create a new Interest Group, go to:

Admin → People Management → Groups

Select Interest Groups.

This page allows you to view your existing Interest Groups and create new ones for your Village.

Add a New Interest Group

To create a new Interest Group, click [ADMIN] New Group.

Administrators can create the new Interest Group by entering the Group Name and, if needed, adding a Comment. When finished, click SAVE.

Interest Group Options

When creating an Interest Group, you can configure several options:

• Comments — Add comments or additional information about the Interest Group.
• Group Picture — Upload a picture to represent the Interest Group.
• Admin Managed Group — When selected, members must be manually added to the group by a Village Admin.
• Default Interest Group — When selected, all active members are automatically enrolled in the group. Members can unsubscribe if they choose.
• Colour — Use colours to help organize and distinguish your Interest Groups.

💡 Note:
You must be an Admin of the Village to create a new Interest Group for Village Talk.

Confirm the New Interest Group

After creating the Interest Group, you can confirm that it has been added by returning to Village Talk.

Go to:

Members → Village Talk → Other Int. Groups

Your newly created Interest Group should now appear under Other Int. Groups.
