Go to ADMIN > Settings > Website (tab) > Menu Manager (button)
That button will take you to the MENU MANAGEMENT page
The public menu is the menu that is visible to the visitors of your website that are NOT logged in.
The private menu is the menu that is visible to the users that are logged in.
When your users log in to the system, they have access to many interactive features of the platform. And therefore, the menu needs to have a different organizational structure to make it easier to distinguish the informational side of the platform and the interactive side of the platform.
When trying to work on your public menu, you may want to use 2 browsers. Use one browser (i.e. Chrome) to make changes on the menu manager and use a different browser (Firefox, Safari, MS Edge, etc) to see how it looks like when you are not logged in.
